Education floor

A bachelor's degree Nevada requires a baccalaureate or master's degree for both of its AIT-based routes: in nursing facility administration or health care for a 1,000-hour internship, or in any field for a 1,200-hour program. A certificate from the American College of Health Care Administrators (ACHCA) for completion of its nursing home administrator certification program is accepted in lieu of a degree-based AIT program. Administrator-in-Training hours

0 to 1,200 hours depending on your degree or experience

• 1,000 hours: Baccalaureate or master's degree in nursing facility administration or a health-care field, plus at least 1,000 hours in a Board-or-NAB-approved training program or in an internship/residency at a long-term care facility (NAC 654.100(1)(c)(1)).
• 1,200 hours: Baccalaureate or master's degree in any field, plus at least 1,200 hours in a Board-or-NAB-approved training program, including 200 hours split across resident care (65), personnel management (45), financial management (25), maintenance/housekeeping/laundry (25), and administration (40) (NAC 654.100(1)(c)(2)).
• 0 hours: A certificate from the American College of Health Care Administrators (ACHCA) for completion of its nursing home administrator certification program satisfies the education-and-training requirement in place of a degree-based AIT program (NAC 654.100(1)(c)(3)).

National NAB exams
